Graf and I will be rolling into town about 1:00 on Friday. No gOAd, no Chainsaw, no Seeger (although I hear he's due back from Hawaii on Tuesday--missed it by that much!).
Bummer about Olson--PG's never met him. Weather forecast looks great. Hell, it looks more like California weather than Midwest weather! But we're both really looking forward to this race. Thanks, Kenny!

Just talked to Steve and he cannot come. I will give everyone their money back. I will give cash to the people who are coming to the Buckeye and Paypal back the others.
He has an art show he found about today. Its in LA and so will he.
We are having problems with the Big Tent for the Buckeye. We cannot use stakes to hold it up, since its in a Public park and the fire station is not available to fill up the water bladders. So I think we are scratching the tent, getting some smaller tents from nieghbors and friends and using the $500 that the tent would have cost on food for the racers.
Its not going to be hot or super sunny. 79 degrees is the high. No problem. You guys and gals cool with that?
Thanks for pitching in for Olson. He's the man and really wished he could have made it.

Hey Buckeye Racers. We need to help Olson get to the race. Races are more fun with Steve on board.
I will kick down the first $100. Please paypal a small donation to Kennym1@sbcglobal.net.
We need about $400. The ticket is $500. Help a Legend out. A little will go a long way.

wow kenny ! Claude sure is stoked on OHIO..he even went to practice today! after our 2nd race re-cap meeting (people really do not realize what it takes to grow a race)here at the skatepark, our team disbursed and some went to run cones...i wanted to but since i'm not racing next week-end, i elected to stay here and start plotting our fall schedule..intergral to the survival of our skatepark and our lifestyle in the coming year! with all of our kids and sk8camp each week until Labour Day, the easy breezy skateboarding life takes a little work and planning! i called the motel and verified ours' and paul d (the time keeper)'s res - no prob - with luck we'll call you around 7 pm on THURS you take care this week - do not stress and do crash at Ryder's bed-time!!!

Good luck Ken. I know the Buckeye will be an "all-time" event this year and I hate to miss it, especially in my home state :(
Hell I'm going to miss most of the farm as well but life goes on and family is numero uno. Next stop is Mex. to celebrate moms 70th.
I can't begin to describe the feeling of watching your kid stand up for the first time. I'm very proud to say the least. The waves and sand bars have been absolutely perfect this summer for the kids to learn.
Look forward to seeing Ryders Pic on the Gong surfing, very soon I imagine.
Stoke on,
Tway

Tway,
That is sick. Conner is ripping. Florida looks nice. Sorry you cannot make the Buckeye - you'll be missed. That is so impressive. I think we are going to Maui instead of the North Shore this December. I will freak when Ryder takes his first ride !!!!!
Linda Eggert,
Freaking finding you here on the Gong Show !!! Are you still living in the Minny-Apple? I love that city !!! I bet Wisconsin is nice right now. Our summer plans got a little mixed up with the shattered heel, but it will soon be a memory. Hope all is well, and next summer will be here before we know it. Post up some pics on the Gong Show of you guys living it up in the north. Have a great "mini-reunion" and enjoy the sun. We are going to the Hastings Pool today, which is now called "Reed Road Water Park". They totally changed it and its really great for Ryder and the kids.
Have a great weekend and see most of you next week at the Buckeye Open !!!

Yes that is me rocking the barefoot. Now I am rocking the wheelchair. Everyone but me knew it would happen someday. "Dont do the crime, unless your willing to do the time".
Get out there Sunday. You'll be glad you did.

Elizabeth and I are having our own high school reunion . . . wish you were here! Elizabeth just showed me your web site . . . saw how "nature boy" originated (scary!! - a little too much info for someone who went to elementary school with you!) Mrs. Aplin would be shocked. Can't wait for next July 4th! Ryder is too cute - looks like he might follow in Daddy's footsteps. If you're ever in Mlps., give us a call and we'll stroll down memory lane!

Rob- The Michigan guys are coming and some locals will be ripping also. If you want to borrow a board you can. Or two. I'll call you.
Here is a map of the local "Grovetucky" nieghborhood. It used to be its own city south of town, so it got that nickname back in the 70's.
The subject arrow is the hill. 1 is the Hotel 2 is the skatepark 3 is the Grind Skate Shop
There are tons of restaurants along Stringtown Road.

I went to the Motel 6 last night to make sure that they put us all together so we can be loud, skate around, party, etc.
They only have about 20 rooms reserved right now. They have Myler, Harm, Bara, and some others. Chappy your in.
But, I know many of you got your reservations online at the lower rate. Do yourself a favor if you made online reservations and call the 1-800 number and tell them that you called the hotel and you may not be officially reserved from the Hotel's point of view. They have around 35 rooms available, but its the lowest-price hotel in that sub-market so they get lots of workers from Monday thru Thurday. Just please call and make sure your officially reserved. I dont want anyone shut out for some computer mess-up.
We have a room there also and may be staying over Friday and Saturday so we can mingle with all the big-time pros, get some autographs, and meet the wipper-snappers.
We have had epic summer weather, with temps in the 80's, no rain and low humidity. Looks like next weekend will be hot, humid with a 60% chance of showers. We may have some super early race times, if it looks like we will be hit with afternoon showers. Its all going to work out perfect, but the schedule will be flexy.
Joe I. just signed up so you know its going to be a party. We will have a keg at the race all three days for spectators and "of age" racers. The grill will be fired up with cheap food. If we break even or make money, it will go towards more food and beer.
