The demo was a good time and riding the Derby hill was even better. The surface has worn in nicely with even more grip. You don't hear a thing except the wind and your inner voice. Don't miss the Buckeye! It is going to be way better than last year with more sponsors, backing, and shade wih the tent that is being put up. Grove City skatepark is KILLER! only 6 miles from the hill!
Thanks for the hospitality over the weekend Kenny and Robin!

Sorry Mig !!!!!!!!!
FULL BAG WAS THE FIRST COMPANY TO SEND SWAG FOR THE BUCKEYE. The reasson I did not list you was that your stuff got "lost". Its TOO cool to give away and I was just going to keep it for myself.
Really,
I am pretty drugged up still as the pain is not letting up. We have been working on the Poster and your right up there on the top row. YOu logo is tooo cool. People come into my office and just crack up as the swag pile is here. You boards look very sharp. Ethan wanted to steal one, as he has been working with me a little this summer. Sorry Mig. My bad. I knew I would miss somebody. Sorry it was you. Thanks a million for all your help. You are going to have a riot at the Buckeye.
I need some fullbag stickers. THe logo is the shiot. Nice ad in the new Concrete Wave magazine.
ON A DARKER NOTE.
PAY UP BITCHES. ITS ONLY THREE WEEKS AWAY AND WE HAVE SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS MAKING SURE THIS IS THE BEST SLALOM WEEKEND EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PAYPAL. PAY UP. COUGH. NOW. NO RACE DAY MONEY ACCEPTED. THE SWAG PILE IS HUGE. TONS OF BOARDS. LATE PAYERS GET T-SHIRTS.

Interesting, looks like the clinic you go to does digital radiography. We're digital at one of the places I work, the other is still doing film.
Screw and plate placement looks good from the fractures I can see in the images. After running a C-Arm(live image flouroscope X-ray machine) for the surgeons in surgery for a number of similar operations for calcaneous fractures, that hardware is pretty typical. That's one bone you DON'T want to have the parts shifting around during healing(some bones you actually do want to shift around a smidge), so going a little overboard on the hardware is a good thing.
Same as before, avoid carbonated beverages, get some vitamin C, D, sunshine, eat right and you'll likely be fine, you know the rest, I'm sure your Doctor gave you the rest of the speal I'm not giving. Back to the house fix-its. Best wishes on it -P

Kenny,
Noticed that Fullbag Skates was forgotten in your sponsors list. Box with 2 decks, t-shirts , and stickers was sent via UPS and from the info on their tracking page it's been in Columbus since june 22nd but hasn't been delivered yet after a first attempt. Could you check into it?
Hope you will heal fast and come back to skating as strong as ever! See you in 3 weeks!

I just wonder if that $hite's gotta stay in there permanently! I broke my right femur in Vail, CO in 1991--had a bunch of titanium put in to help hold things together while it healed. Two years later I still wasn't walking right, so I had it taken out. Glad I did. But I hope you won't have to, Kenny.

Dude, I get pedicures now :)
Riding barefoot is something I do sometimes when I can't find me sneaks.
Yep, I get around, was just in Michigan and soon to visit my 27 year old daughter in Denver. My youngest girl, 20, is in PA and soon to be in Eugene, OR ... My son, will be turning 18 next year so soon I'll be ready for my second childhood. I think by the time I'm 55(few years from now) I'll be able to kick Cliff's butt downhill!
Anyways, I'm kind of out of it too. Discovered today L5 has pinched nerve causing sciatica and PNE unbearable pain. Good thing I got my medical marijuana state card, cuz the medicine I'm getting from the LA dispensaries really helps!
Yes, it's medicine! :)
Maybe you'll be ready for the Encinitas race in October ?
Of course today is way better than the old days. hanging out at the pump house this year and last with the Kevin, Clay, Tiger and Lynne has gotten me turned on to cruise races. I'm pretty competitive as usual but the body aint ready to slide into real high gear yet.
I did best when I was hungry, poor and itching to tear someone's head off. I'll work on that!
so, i hope you are getting the best nutrients to rehab and some type of traction program that augments your recovery. also, do the visualization thing where you imagine your foot mending over and over again as you prepare for a race.
OK, enough text here.
looks like you are getting great rest and quality time with the kid! that's a champion there for sure!
all the best to you mate!
cheers cYa

Just back from the two week post operation check up. My stitches did not come out as they are still oozing surgery jam. My foot looks like I stepped on a land mine - I was shocked !!!
The doctor said the surgery went well and it went back together pretty good. Only threw away some cartalige, but saved most of the bone.
I am starting to feel myself again, but it is hot out here this week. Only like 87 degrees, but thats hot when you cannot go into the pool.
We have so many sponsors for the BUCkeye Open 3.0. Here is a partial list of those who have said they would kick down.
Khiro Abec 11/Pink, etc. Pocket Pistols Five Points Insect Fatboy Revenge Trucks Siezmic Ninja Old Man Army Z-Flex Bennett Trucks Pavel Sector 9 Chill X Skate Kings Skaterbuilt Airflow Skateboards All Boards Sports Gravity Longboard Larry
Still working on some others including Dregs, Tracker, Arbor, and others. There should be a sufficient amount of swag to go down to last place.
Here is the damage.

Todd and Johnny- Sorry about the injuries. We are all going to make it and next summer this will be a faded memory.
Chris- Those old days were good, but these are even better. Ed Economy just sent me some shots from back in Michigan when we headed up with Ray Allen to the Skateboard USA contest. You were our hero and the only person from the magazine that lived here in the midwest. Then, in 1987 we ride the chairlift together in Winter Park, Colorado. Then I see you again in 2001 at Morro Bay. This has been a great ride, and I have spent very little time in surgery, on crutches, or in a wheel chair. 99% of the time, I have felt perfect and I am not complaining too much about my current state.
I need to slow down just a little to keep myself from getting too hurt. Just a little though. Stay in touch. You look lean and mean. Keep it up. I was thinking about suing you for my broken heel bone. After all, it was you that promoted barefoot riding back in the day. I'll have my people contact your people. Peace.

Heyyyyy kkkkkennnnnnnnyyyyyy!
as the years truck on, so does the wear and tear. i'm amazed you still have that much hair! :P
racing the cones is not my biggest desire these days but I can say one thing about it. Once I get on the course, I want to go real fast and lots of fun.
With Clay, Lynn, Kevin and Tiger, it has been. Need to rehook up with the group again. I'm in the middle of moving from N. County (San Diego) to Pacific Beach soon.
So while you recover, remember the days of Kevin Tate, endless summer, skateboard city and apple skatepark. The midwest should be very proud to have such a monster skater like you to keep the industry pumpin...
All the best to you Chris Yandall www.skogging.com

Yo Kenny -
I signed up for the Buckeye a while ago, but I'm still not positive if I'm gonna be able to make it. Are entry fees a flat $100, any discounts for the under 18 crowd? Is it alright to pay the fee's at the race, if I can make it? Let me know, thanks!
