Practice....
On 6/6/2007 Chad Hegerty wrote in from United States  (65.189.nnn.nnn)

Kenny,

Lets set up some time to slalom on the hill soon. I want to try a few boards and see what I got myself into when I signed up for the Open.

If this Sunday, the 10th, looks good, let me know. I am supposed to be out of town but can come back Saturday night if Sunday AM works. Otherwise you let me know your schedule and I will make it.

Let me know. Either via email above or on my cell 614.403.9405.

Chad

Truck girl

"4-year-old daughter named after a brand of skateboard trucks"?

Hmmm, I wonder which brand? Indy? Orion? Ruckus? Destructo?

Imagine the conversations in that house:

"Tracker! Stop picking your nose!"
"Thunder, eat your peas, or no SpongeBob for you!"
"Guess what, Tensor, you're gonna have a baby brother soon! He's gonna be named Grind King!"

I just hope it's not the brand Wax makes nowadays. :-)

Columbus Monthly article

Here is an article in our Columbus Magazine from last month. It was kinda fun. Ryder will think its cool (I hope) when he grows up. We were the only non-tattoo family in the article.

Hope I sized them right and they are not huge. He we go.

The pull of Ohio
On 5/28/2007 nature wrote in from United States  (69.223.nnn.nnn)

Jason and Luke,

I lived in Kentucky for 2 years, Martha's Vineyard one summer, Colorado for 7 years, and California for one summer. I always knew I would come home, but I did love my time away. Colorado is much slower than California and I loved it. The traffic in Cally just really stinks. Prices are high, and its very crowded.

My dad always said, "you'll make the choice between people vs. place. Some people need the ocean or the mountains. I want them, but I really need my friends and family. Well, mostly friends.

Ohio rocks for living.

Luke, i totally know what you're goin through man, i'm in the same situation. It's weird how you want to leave ohio so badly for years, and when you finally do it...you just can't stop thinking about going back! the grove city park looks like a good reason to come back too haha, although i'll miss the costa mesa park dearly. see you back in ohio!

Summer 1990
On 5/22/2007 Kenny wrote in from United States  (69.223.nnn.nnn)

Luke,

I lived out there in the summer of 1990. Ocean Beach and then up in Santa Cruz. Your not a pussy. I could have never seen myself live out there. Its a lot of trouble to do almost anything compared to back here. Ohio will take on a new shine for you.

Good luck on the drive. Grove City is happening. He are some shots from last night.

Actually this is from a day or two ago when we set up Ryder's new PPS Skatezilla.

Local Grove City Ripper, Nick.

Park Overview. Its about 1 mile from the hotel for the Buckeye Open and its real nice !!!

Ryder cruisin' the lip of the 11 foot section. Keeps me busy.

Ethan tearing it up on a borrowed board, after he broke his mounting hardware on his PPS DP 36".

I am waiting a month or so until I try to get back on the vert. For right now, its a few Exkate miles a week.

Home
On 5/20/2007 Eddy Texas Outlaws wrote in from United States  (70.115.nnn.nnn)

Luke the cool thing about all this is that you can allways go home. They say home is where the heart is. That is so true bro. I love my home town dude, there are no skateparks near by which really sucks , we are at least 10 years behind the larger cities. There is only my friend Gumby who rides for Skaterbuilt who I slalom with. We have to travel at least 4 hours to ride with the bulk of our Team. And yet bro this is home and I love it. Subtropical weather, South Padre Island beach is 30 minutes from my house, Mexico is a 20 minute drive. Life is an endless journey and we should appreciate what we have, love our family and friends.
