This is the pic Harms was talking about a few weeks ago. I could not open it with the link that Jonathan put up.
Classic moment on the front page of the "Metro" section.

Man, the days of the 4 man TTT is long gone but was such a cool event. Back in the day when I raced as a JR I would always check out the results of the Worlds, Olympics, etc and see how all the Eastern Bloc steroid nations would do 100km in 1hr 56 minutes or something.............. I'd just trip that 4 guys could average over 32mph for so long!
Killer relic, but your right about the shifters breaking, just hope it doesn't happen in the 12t cog right before a hill. OUCH!
The boy even has the Saavedras..........
Have fun bro, I always envied the road TT'ers. The longest TT I was good at was 1km. painful but not like the long ones!

Farid, I loved riding our State 4 man TT on this thing... We had a working stiff team that finished in the top 5 a couple of times...
That little Huret worked better and better the skinnier the chain and the more cogs I added over the years...I also have the Saavedra 24" racing wheel waiting in the wings...
I probably should take those old Modolo shifters off... I've seen more than one break off in the heat of a race...
I only get it out 3-4 times a year and I just keep it to remind me of a guy I once was... haha It has allot of trail in the fork and goes as straight as a freight train so it's not much fun unless you have your heart and soul buried in the pedals...

Kronos shifters and a Jubilee rear derail?! You look so much younger than your geriactic status!
BTW - Hold on to that Jubilee, in 10 years you might be able to retire selling it. Collectors are already freakin' on trying to get one.
See you??

Todd- I am road biking on an old Trek of some kind. Touring bike with "grandlebars" from when my back was hurting. I only ride about 100-125 miles per week, but I am still weak from the surgery and the knee feels wierd still. Its only been 8 months, and they said it would take 12-18 months to get as good as it will be. I am icing right now after an hour on our eyptical (sp?) machine. I am going to buy an aluminum Specialized bike with all the upgrades. It was a $2,700 bike and a nieghbor is selling it to me for $1,400. I am planning on 100 miles on Mother's day. I wont finish if the knee starts feeling wierd, but the doc says its ok to try.
Luke, I knew you would get it all together. Those first few days can work on your mind. "What am I doing out here?", "did I make the right choice?". "This is gonna be hard". The toughest part is over and now your IN. Congrats on living the dream. We'll be out soon.

Wow, its been a really busy and tiring week. I've been crunching big time to get a job, apartment, and car all within 6 days, and I did it within 3. I got the job at Gravity and I start monday. I just moved into a studio apartment in Oceanside which is a block from the beach and I can see the waves from my door. And lastly, I got an '89 Volvo 240 for $2000. Its a sweet ride and in mint condition. Next step is buying a surfboard and wetsuit. Water is pretty cold here until summer.

Hey Rob! OKC is where I was born and bred. Check out the ditch (50/Penn ditch) under the highway around the 50th and Pennsylvania area. The mall is across the street (Penn Square Mall). Also, there is a ditch on HWY 9 on the south side of Norman. It's on the north side of the highway. Fun place to make some carves and kickturns.

Getting back in the groove. Biking like hell, working on the yard, NOT doing any appraisals (no work),and hanging with Ryder.
Yesterday morning.

Heading to the zoo this morning with Jesse.

Running his "Lords of Dogtown" movie prop into the new dirt/grass seed combo. Sorry Bara.

Thank you Kenny and Bara for chronicling your trip to Indian School.
It's been fun living vicariously through ya'll. It looks like a blast was had by all, and everyone came back with all their limbs intact!
