PCB, You must be one of those white male Republicans that always has to be right. . .Not that there's anything wrong with that. Heck, I'm one, too.

Mine works, too, btw, I just couldn't find the http for the picture.

Chris's slalom
On 10/2/2001 Duane wrote in from (65.201.nnn.nnn)

Chaputs slalom wheels are abec 11 75A on the 50mm hub, cut with straight sides to narrow them to about 38mm give or take, shaved to 74mm maybe worn a bit below that. One thing for sure, they are faster than your (any) wheels. grippy, too.

Same
On 10/2/2001 Duane wrote in from (65.201.nnn.nnn)

I think very highly of Hyper 'thane. Stradas are pretty damn fast, actually. If we all admit that these are all poured in the same place (Hyper, Krypto, Gravity, Fibreflex, Comet, Sector nine, who knows who else), then none of this really matters, its all likely to be very similar, at least. There is no practical difference between the squared and round hole 38mm hubs, the molds may even have the same B half (back half).

new "stradas"
On 10/2/2001 ur13 wrote in from (129.42.nnn.nnn)

from what I have seen the new G&S and Krypto wheels are exactally the same as the stradas they are clones of, in everyway (same molds) except urethane color and graphics....and of course ride....which I have been told is better given that not many think very highly of hyper 'thane.

Comet Meteors
On 10/2/2001 C-Money wrote in from (207.152.nnn.nnn)

Do these require 10mm or 8mm spacers? They look just like stradas. Same question for the G&S and krypgrips.

Is everyone, other than, V12, making Strada clones? If so, why are they all being done in the same durometers, 78a and 88a? nothing in between?

Big wheels
On 10/2/2001 Herbn wrote in from (64.12.nnn.nnn)

A few days ago,i think, someone ,i guess it was Dan G,mentioned that Chaput slaloms on over sized wheels,i guess that means ABEC11's, right? pretty impressive, are they well worn and grinded straight,or just full size right out of the box.

Comet Wheels
On 10/2/2001 Scabs wrote in from (66.21.nnn.nnn)

Can anyone give me a clue to what the shape of these wheels are? Are they cored? Same as Stradas/Krypgrips? Kinda strange that the new G&S wheelz and Comet wheelz debut on the same day but I see the Comets in 78a prpl, 88a yel/grn and the G&S are 78 yel/grn. I`ve seen the pic of the Fibreflex wheelz and now need a pic of the Comets.

Do I hafta wait for ur13 to posts pics?

Thanks guys and gals for finally putting the wheel drought to end.

Has anyone tried these wheels yet? I'd like to know how they compare to the slightly softer Reds in speed, traction and feel.

I like the slide character of Green Krypto classics the best.
I have the Bones Bombers and don't like them. When they release, they're gone. Like greesed pigs.

Sliding wheels
On 9/30/2001 roger wrote in from (66.51.nnn.nnn)

Devan, dual density sucks. The first thing you should be looking for in sliding economy are wheels that are center set. This gives longer life by reversing them. Some wheels with wide hubs such as Exkate also wear down well. And for some reason Krypto race core wheels wear down fairly evenly (they now have harder compounds available in 76mm). Abec11 slide well and give a lot of urethane for the dollar. V-Twelve N-gens are my current sliding wheel, but have sharper edges when reversed (chattery slide). And of course the Bone Bombers will last a long time.

hey Devan ai just checked out those wheels on the site too. those would be sick!!! too bad they are only 61mm
thats a little too small for me to be bombing and carving with. If they made 70's like that I would get em.

anyone lknow more about those wheels? look rad...

wheels
On 9/29/2001 Devan Perona wrote in from (216.126.nnn.nnn)

I have been longboarding for three years now and this last year my friends and i have become a lot more agressive with slides (pengelum, reverb, coleman, etc). I have gone through two sets of wheels. I am looking for something in the 85a range and up so they don't wear down so fast and i can slide better. On my search I also saw on the sector 9 page that they have a dual diameter wheel that is 78a on the outside and 92a on the inside. This sounds like the perfect wheel for the carver in me and the slider in me. Has anyone tried these? Should i get them?

slalom wheels
On 9/29/2001 C-Money wrote in from (64.12.nnn.nnn)

The lack of slalom wheels is frustrating. Do you know how fast a 210lbs guy wears out slalom wheels when seriously sessioning!?!?!?

The NGENs creator V-Twelve has done a great service at least making good slalom wheels available to the non-connected "average guy" out here. I was lucky enough to score some hyper stradas from Mark at poolskater prior to his running out. Now we just wait patiently for the comet wheels and G&S stradas. . .soon I hope. And others?

heh-heh-heh is right, JD. It will be ironic if I get my new Turner before any other new wheels or promised decks are available!!!

Kryptonic CS-68 wheels......Where are they?
On 9/28/2001 Martin wrote in from (213.123.nnn.nnn)

True enough CS-62's are about as common as 'Rocking Horse s*@t', but no one mentions the bigger version the CS-68....Are they rarer?
I for one would like to track some down, anyone come across any? There must have been sizeable runs of them, so where are they?
Red=78A, Blue=90A, Orange=86A, Pink=85A, Yellow=75A (too soft, wore down visibly)

I have now found my old wheel bag which contained 65mm 78A Thomson Sprints (the ONLY good wheel to come out of the UK back in the day),4 NOS Yandall slaloms plus two used (same shape as OJ slaloms)and more Powerflex 3's and 5's. So with the 65mm OJ's as well, what do I do? Sell them all or ride them?

Martin.
