Adam, you deleted the post with the review. Why dat? Here's another version of it:
Bushings from 75a Abec11 urethane: Really great, as good or better than yellow stims.
Grippins with the new secret formula ultra-high rebound uethane, approx. 83a duro: Excellent grip, fast, very easy controlled scrubs on the hybrid super turny course we were running. Best Grippins yet.

(replace the (DOT)s with actual dots)
Is it unreasonable to think that links to other longboarding sites should be allowed to work?

Adam, your website software is changing the link to the picture I posted. Folks, it's at: http://www_silverfishlongboarding_com/forum/files/strangelove_120.jpg
if the dots are replaced with underscores, just change them back

Yes the rtx/s are good. I would get the 106's.
I would be tempted to move the back truck on the kicktail like the Axe deck sk8kings.com. Warning the deck may get too flexy. 19-20" WB would be better than the 16" you now have.

I suppose the shape has something to do with something, but I couldn't tell you what. The compound is dead and lifeless; hence the bushings are of no use to me or anyone else that is big-boy sized.
Just get good rubber in there and you will be off to a good start...

So the shape dosn't matter? I tend to use barrels and a top cone, these are going on a NOS Taperflex deck with clear red Powerpaws, not sure if it going to get riden much, as unfortunatly i'm putting it together for my brother-in-law! Is there a reason for the hourglass bushings?

Useless for anyone over, say, 65 lbs. Give 'em to a kid and teach him (her?) how to turn. Replace them in your trucks with Stims, Radikals, Khiros, or other quality high-rebound bushing.

Trackers are a great place to start for slalom. I have a set of the 129s and they work real nice. Many people would recommend the smaller 106mm size but I was running Grippins on my board so I needed a wider truck. That's a sweet looking board you got but I think that the wheelbase is a bit small for most slalom applications, I guess it would work for some super tight stuff but I think that standard slalom wheelbases are 18+ in. Make sure to pick up some wedges too so that you can tune the trucks to respond the right way: wedged front for faster turning and flat or dewedged back for slower tracking.

Tracker slaloms?

Hello, does anyone have experience with the Tracker RTS/RTX combo for slalom? Looking for opinions and comparisons between these and other trucks. Smaller Indies are hard to find and Split-fire and Radikal are mighty expensive for this newbie to justify. Are the Mid tracks an option? Board: Red Kross Emergency 8.5x30 flat with 16 inch WB, wheels: 68mm 74a Avalons. Thanks alot, Rodel

Randal 150 Axles Showing Through?

I normally user Randal 180's on all my longboards, but recently received a pair of Randal 150 trucks as a gift. I noticed that the axle bolt seems to "peek" through the truck (see attached image where I have highlighted the area where the axle shows through in bright green).

When I first looked I wasn't sure if this was simply a case of someone being a bit overzealous with some sort of powered nutdriver at the factory, but then I noticed that it was actually the axle showing through the truck.
Anyway, I wasn't sure if this was simply a cosmetic flaw or if all the 150's were manufactured this way.

Stims on JimZ Hangers

I would use the blues as bottom and the greens on top. I used greens all the way but i like my DH trucks kinda loose.
Simon, JimZ speed hangers have the axles longer than the actual hanger so your bearings rest on the bigger part of the axle for a perfect fit.

I'd heard good things about the Exkates carving, but it sounds like they are a problem at speed? Prone to wobbles?

Hi,
just touching on an earlier topic.
I've seen a skate tool, that has a die in one side and a tool for removing bearings on the other, it still has the standard tools.
A friend in my local skate shop has one, its bright orange, i'll find out more.
ANYONE SEEN ONE?

i rode a board that had exkates in the front and a stock randal 180 in the rear- it works (as in yes you can ride it and have some fun on it), but i still wouldn't take it much faster than what you'd go on a setup with exkates on both front and rear. personally, the exkates i rode on gave me the feeling on the 'novelty truck': it can be fun in specific circumstances, but isn't good for all aroung use.

What would happen if you put Exkate torsion trucks in the front of your deck, and some less twisty trucks such as Gullwings or Randalls in the rear? Would this even work? (I know nothing, save your mockery for someone who pretends to!)

Me and Jim used Tracker stimulators all the time before, (i actually turned Jim on those) But when we couldn't find 'em anymore, JimZ got going and made some that were ajusted to fit even better on his hangers. I still use originals when i want to carve more my flushcut but i find the JimZ stimz more stable for racing.
