First Idea: Have You tried two large soft bones hardcore bushings in the front? This was the best stup for carving I had so far. The big bushing as top bushing gives a smoother turn, than the normal (short) top-bushing. This setup is great for carving, but when it comes to speed it is to soft for me. The disadvantages are, that You need two packages of bushings for each truck. And carving and pumping killed my bottom bushing in a little more than 4 hours. I use a Yellow Randal now as a bottom bushing and a soft bones as top bushing.
Second: Maybe Original Trucks could be What You are looking for. I havent tried them by myself, but a guy I cruised with last week loves them for their incrdible turnabillity.

Hello everybody,
has anyone tried Holey Trucks? How are they? I'm asking, because Lushlongboards are now discarging Randals. Now they offer Holeys in their completes. Has anyone oft Yours tried both trucks?

I forgot to mention the 155's that I tried were Seismics. I use them on a longboard I use for vert. and they work well there but are just make a lot of noise when I use them for the street.

I've been riding a 44" board for years now. I had it set up with Exkates and was really used to them. Used to their agility. I decided to get a new set up. I ended up getting a Gravity Hyper Carve, Randal II 150mm and 75A Gumballs.
This board was mainly used for "general cruising" and some light hill bombing. I've found that the Randals are less than stellar. I"m not sure if I'm just used to the Exkates or that the Randals are just inferior. They're either too loose or they're so tight they just don't carve well.
I've tried all kinds of combinations of bushings. I'm using Khiro barrels and insert bushings now in blue that seem fairly nice but I'm still not happy. I've tried Bones Hardcores in black and blue in various combinations without much luck. To be honest the red stock Randal bushings are just about as good as any of the third party bushings I've tried.
Which leads me to my question. Is there anything out there that carves better than the Randals yet has some stability to them? I actually have some 155's that I wanted to use but I'm using the board for a commuter/cruiser and those damn things rattle so much that it just makes me mad cruising with them.
Is there any alternative out there?

traction lab= indy pendant suspension.?

if the original indy suspension trucks worked for slalom, and it seems to , then the traction labs should also. Of course the indys were under pretty much under the fastest riders at the time, but they did seem to think they worked ,they could have chosen to use regular indys. I don't know the specifics,i remember seeing Hutson posing with a board that had them on both ends maybe hester used one and a regular truck on the other end,I'm not sure. I guess this can just be posted to death until some positive racing results prove something. I don't see traction labs being priced at or below the price of other truck, mo parts mo money.

Once again I am seeing on this site "Chaput bashing". I read back trying to understand what could make someone so angry at this guy and find nothing. Seemed like all he was trying to do was open up an in depth discussion on why the Traction lab truck seems to work so well. (or why it should'nt) I'd kind of like to know too. Obviously the truck is just something someone made that seems to him and others who have tried it to work very well. In other words it "just works". Well... for some people (i.e. Chaput), that's just not good enough. And it should'nt be. Why DOES it work? Why DOES'NT it work? There is an answer to both of these questions. Unfortunately no one wants to debate it over the hysterical rantings of an overdramatic teen. In the words of another hysterical overdramatic teen type "Too bad, so sad".

The BMW is a beautiful example of what NOT to do in skateboarding. You take a heavy, expensive, ill conceived truck concept and force it onto a board. Because the independently swinging arms can't keep a linear contact patch on the ground, the only wheels that you can use are spherical. The traction is so bad with spherical wheels that they had to use rubber tires to keep people from injuring themselves during the simplest of turns. Rubber is almost always incredibly slow on gravity vehicles and the BMW's are no exception. It is heavy, slow, and expensive.
There is no practical advantage in the design of the BMW as a skateboard. It is a big step backwards in terms of performance. It was a museum piece before it ever hit the market. It's a classic example of what happens when car guys who don't skate are involved with skateboard designs. It sure is pretty though.
Bumblebees can and do fly. The old wives tale is one based on ignorance and has no basis in fact.

Hummm looks to me like people that rode it and like it know what there talking about(if it rides like you want it to ride then your in), and the other people that have not (isn't a bee technically not supposed to fly but does) are just talking out there A$$, bmw had a board with trucks that did something similar (it carved great, I think longskate sold some) and I'm sure there funding(for R&D) was a bit more than Jack and his guys so I say get it in production and let the riders ride it !

Personal issues set aside. ego suspended.
Jack, Billy, Adrian, and Paul. They're not a group of stupid guys, some of them have skated for longer than I've been alive. I'm sure they would have thought to test the truck as a single variable to make sure it works before talking about it on NCDSA. I know Jack didn't just come up with this thing, not test it and then go tell everyone it works. I mean, come on. Today, I went surfing with 4 guys from school and my friend Nicole. After we surfed we went back to my house where they all checked out my slalom boards. Every one of them at first thought slalom was lame, stupid, not real skating. So I took them to a hill. Showed them how to skate and watched a bunch of friends get stoked off slalom. They all wanted trucks, boards, wheels. To me, thats what skatings about, not the scientific stuff. So sorry if I come off mean about it. That stuff just isn't important to me. I rode the truck, i'm convinced it works. Thats enough for me, you can keep doubting it until you skate it and it proves you wrong. But dang, thats a waste of time.

Is there a VERY clear picture of these trucks? I've looked around and all I see are very small shots around this site. I'd like to see what makes these trucks so great.
What is the price on these trucks too?
Where can I try a set?

It is said that in order to learn one must suspend the ego, for previously held beliefs will be shattered so that they can be replaced with new ones. It is suggested that this is why learning is more difficult for adults than children, and particularly for some adults more than others.

Kaspian,
Please re-read Billbee's post. Adrian, Bill, Paul Dunn and myself have already done what you suggested...we swapped out our back trucks, that's it, everything else stayed exactly the same. Our times improved. Believe it if you want to, or don't. Maybe it's all in our head, who knows?

Keli, you seem like an intelligent person. Can't you take a step back from this personal stuff -- like whether you love or hate Chris Chaput -- and just acknowledge the main point he is making? Let me try to help.
1. The point isn't that these new trucks DO NOT WORK. It is: How can we KNOW whether these trucks work? Or to put it another way, what kind of test would prove one way or the other whether these trucks are better than any other kind?
2. Logically, you can't compare two completely different setups -- different decks, wheels, trucks, bearings, bushings, the works -- and conclude, Okay, this one is faster ... because of the TRUCKS. You may be right. But there are simply too many other variables involved to make this a valid, convincing demonstration.
3. You have to narrow down the comparison to the trucks alone. You can do this by riding the SAME setup, changing ONLY the trucks. If a bunch of people try this, using a variety of equipment, and Truck X consistently scores better than Trucks W, Y, and Z, then you've proven something.

Sorry Chris. Ever since La Costa, the respect I once had for 2 certain people, yeah, it basiclly went down the toilet. Gone, zip, zero respect. Thats probably why you make me so mad. I think. I'll have to work on that issue with my shrink. Forgive and forget is hard to do when all you hear about that certain person is bad stuff and then you see him talking on and on and trying to prove something new can't work. But I don't know, I'm not a fan of fighting so there's something in that catagory that makes me not want to give you the time of day. So your time is up with me, I hope you're done calling me names, trying to prove me wrong and telling me I'm a stupid little girl who will never be as smart as the famous Chris Chaput.I heard that people put others down to make themselves feel better, is this true? Or does it only occur inside high school campus's? Who knows. So go ahead and find someone new to argue with, i'm out. I'll see you people at the Worlds. Bring it, i'm ready.

Everyone stop this sh*t. Chris, bring your favorite GS setup, we will remove my Traction Lab and A/B this thing on your rig. I agree with you. Please bear in mind that each owner of the existing batch removed the rear truck they have been most recently riding to experience the new one. Most of us have a limited quiver so naturally the truck went on a setup that one is used to. Coincidentally we all used the same wheels and kept the track width and wheelbase the same as our previous ride. Jeez,it doesn't take a rocket scientist! As for Keli, I saw her blaze down a course that we had been riding for an hour or so before Jack arrived up with the "new invention". It was a cone fest for myself, Terri, Keli and Adrian until Jack showed up. Go Figure ?
