If the tip of the kingpin extends a bit beyond the top of the locknut, smash it with a hammer so that the locknut can't spin off. Another fix that takes a bit more work is get a shorter nut for the top, drill a small hole through the side of kingpin near the top and put a cotter pin through it.
When trucks like this turn back and forth, the locknut moves more easily in the "loosening" direction and eventually comes off. This a well known design flaw in products and Locktite is a bandaid approach to a deeper problem.

Yes, i have that problem. Actually the wheelaxel part fell off the first day i rode it. I' ve talked to the shop I purchased it from and they told me some other people had the same problem. Today i've put on some new locknuts together with loctite, which is a liquid that will safen the screwthreads. Hopefully this will work.
Does anyone know the exact sizes of the exkate kingpin? I know standard kingpins use 14 mm nuts, but the exkate kingpin is smaller, and someone told me they might use some kind of inch size. I use m8 right now (8 mm), but maybe it should be 5/16”, which is only 7,94 mm. So it might be that because the difference is so small, both nuts fit, but the m8 doesn't fit tight enough and therefore unscrews itself.
I'm gonna mail exkate about this and post the answer here.

Pauli:
I was going to use the same deck, but that would keep me from making one run after the other on the different set-ups. I went with two decks that have very similar flex characteristics and cambers. The BEST test would be with two of the same decks...which I don't have.
Now...what sort of wedge/dewedge on the Tracker RTX/RTS will I need to match up with the Seismic QT & ST bases (45* & 30*), with the front 45 being wedged to 50*?

New cast trucks?

Is anybody working on new cast-truck designs? I totally need some turny trucks that use a regular kingpin and don't cost more than a good set of wheels. GUS trucks were a great concept, but trucks need to have removable axles to even begin to step up to the level of Tracker RT-series, let alonne try to be progress the matter.

I hope they are stronger than Akis prototype. The concept is 100% cool but they need to be 10 mm or very good steel.

Trackers and Seismics in AZ Steve's Test

Hey Steve, I have noticed that 2 decks of the same wheelbase but with different cambers, flexes, and widths can make a very noticable difference on their own using the exact same wheels and trucks combination moved from one deck to the other. So, for a true test of the Seismic/Tracker-Rear/Front and vice-versa feel, I would'nt use one combination on one deck and the other combination on a different deck, I'd use one deck only and one set of wheels, and trade trucks around, that way you can absolutely know what difference the truck combinations make and rule out everything else. Also, don't drink a RedBull between truck changes. Good seeing you at Hood -Later, Paul

Well, I got the first two identical w/b decks set up for the comparison.
Pocket Pistols DP1977 & G&S FF Mallard.
Each have similar w/B drillings, but since the geometries of the trucks differ a bit and wedging changes things, I was able to get almost the exact same W-W base on each deck.
The PPDP has the RTX 129mm in front(wedged 10*) and the Seismic 130mm 30* in back mounted flat.
The Mallard has the Seismic 130mm 45* in front wedged 5* and the RTS in back de-wedged 10*.
Both are set up with the identical Avalon combo 85a front, 75a rear, mild outer lip shaved on all of about 1/8".
No chance to test yet, but I need a tad more clearance to avoid any WheelByte.
Suggestions & corrections to my wedging angles welcome!

Khiro pivot cups

I got some Khiro pivot bushings back when they first started offering them, both the hard ones and the soft ones. The big ones (for Randal and trad Tracker) fit width-wise, but height-wise they're too short (approx 3-4mm too short) for the Tracker RT-S baseplate. I wasn't sure if that was going to cause a problem or not. Just to be on the safe side though, I decided not to use them.

basically, i know nothing about bushings. but i can tell you the ones that come on Invader 950s are s#@!. if i lean to one side, the trucks then say stuck leaning like that until i hop on my board and lean to the other side. i use these trucks on my sliding board, i keep them tight. i don't carve with them, basically i go straight for speed then go hard into slides. if i want to get some replacement bushings, should i get hard ones considering what i'm going to be doing with my trucks? i need the cheapest replacement bushings, basically. suggestions!

I don't want to start another SLALOM TRUCK CONTROVERSY but I'd just like to say that my MonkeywrenchMachineWorks'd 8mm RT-X's and Seismics and AsphaltPlayground 8mm RT-X's and SplitFires did a very good job of turning, providing traction, and most of all-functioned as great fastening devices between my decks and wheels at the Hood River West Coast Championships last weekend enabling a 10th finish in the GS, and 8th in the "A" Class T/S. That's all I've got to say. Unless I think of more to say. OK, I guess that's all I really have to say for right now. Ok, um, well, umm, Later-Paul

do you mean the kingpin locknut? If that's the case sounds like the nylon insert is worn out and you need a new locknut. I've been riding exkates for a long time and never had that particular problem.

Does anyone know what trucks Danny Way was using when he did the Great Wall Of China jump last weekend? The web site said he would be doing around 50 mph at the bottom of the ramp, so I wonder if he just tightened up some conventional trucks or if he used something more speed-oriented like Randals or whatever. The only videos I've seen were too small and grainy to tell, but they looked like conventional trucks.
