3rd ave speed run
On 10/11/2006 TY wrote in from United States  (67.166.nnn.nnn)

That speed meter on 3rd is way fun. We have got 39 on that road, if you are looking for some faster ones check out 2nd south. If you time the light from the top of the presidents circle at the U you can carry your speed all the way through the lights and get gong pretty fast. We have a gps watch that tells us how fast we are going and we got 43 down that one. If you really want something fast come to the race on sunday at suncrest, we top speeds of 53 and could even go faster possibley.

gnarlyruns.com has a run creator that you can find any run anywhere in the world and make it visible for all to see. they also give prizes for the coolest runs that people create. The site is cool too. It shows how long the run is and how many feet you drop it is sweet.

That last post made me laugh. I'm from wildwood and would drive hours to skate any type of hill, and would love trucking it 3 hrs. to lansdowne maryland for thier sick ass park before it "got the fence". The park in brigantine NJ opened my eyes to loving parks. Free and Flowy. Atlantic city parking garages were by far the greatest treat for a sk8 hungry girl stuck on the southern coastal plains of new jersey. And as for the ocean- God damn that continental shelf! I've recently been spoiled by san diego and don't skate as much because the fever is in my face. I don't have to hunt it down. 1.castle before those kids burnt it down
2.The fastest ramp off the boardwalk 24th st.
3. Ceaser's parking garage in Atlantic City

On 8/18/2006 Jaybyrd wrote in from United States  (64.219.nnn.nnn)

I've been riding garages mainly lately and I think I've been going round and round a little too much. I'd really like something straiter. Although curves would be OK. Although the airconditioned elevator rides up provide a little cool break between runs. Well I hope everyone has a great weekend filled with lots of riding. Later, Jaybyrd

BASA: BAY AREA SKATEBOARD ASSOCIATION
On 8/17/2006 Mark Johnson wrote in from (75.7.nnn.nnn)

Bay area skaters, did you know there is a forum just for Bay area skaters?
There is! It is under Orges: and it is BASA. That stands for Bay Area Skateboard Association. If you are near or in the bay area and are trying to get people together to skate then go there and put your post up. There are far to many scattered bay area riders always looking to go ride, so put your post up if you want to ride

Austin Shopping Center
On 8/6/2006 Jaybyrd wrote in from United States  (12.73.nnn.nnn)

Thanks for understanding, it does get a bit depressing when you have to drive for an hour or more just to find something ridable. Eddie, I was out in Austin alittle while back and found a shopping center off of 71 just north of town. It was early, about 3am so no cars but it was a total blast. We took some runs that were fairly fast. Starting a Krogers and ending at Home Depot was one of the funnest. Does anyone know the name of this center? Is it ridden often? Anyway we had a blast and plan on checking out Austin again. By the way, the Slalom event ya'll had was great.

Later,
Jaybyrd

Jaybird believe me I know the feeling. To find some hills Gumby and I drive about and hour and 45 minutes. Austin and the S A Hill country and I am sure El Paso have some nice spots. The Rio Grande Valley is flat. Does my heart good to know that we have more speed freaks out there. Shredward how's it going bro. Your Amigo Eddy Texas Outlaws.

Sorry if I came off wrong, been having a rough go off it. You are right about H town not having hills, but we have found a few good ditchs and parking garages. Also there is a fair hill that is good for slalom, it's short but developes some speed and has an uphill runoff. It's in the Tomball area though.
I see alot of flood control efforts under way around town and just hope there is a skater hiding in the hearts of the ones responsable for designing the new era of ditches around here. Maybe they could give H town a face lift or atleast a few hills that might need a training bra.

Later,
Jaybyrd

RE: HUSBAND SKATE BOARD FOR BIRTHDAY
On 7/23/2006 Calvin wrote in from United States  (71.13.nnn.nnn)

If your hubby is old, but him a " Sector 9 (that is the brand name) Luke Nose Walker (that is the make or model of board). They are inexpensive about $150 bucks, and very enjoyable. I am 27 years old, but I will be riding mine until I am 80. I could see an 80 year old guy riding one, they are not difficult to control, that and if he wants to become one with the pavement again, they are awsome for downhill, many people would argue with me, but I prefer the Luke Nose Walker for downhill, the extra length gives you added control with a wide stance, and you can ride them one footed because they are so big, you can even walk the nose on them, I like to surf too, and it feels like surfing to me, except I live in Michigan, so when I surf, it is usually freezing out or in a blizzard, so the skate boarding is definately much warmer, and whatever you do, BUY HIM A SURF BOARD, even if you live in the midwest, you can drive to the great lakes, and if you live close to the ocean, even better. NOAA has a website with buoys for reading wave reports, so you know when the surf is up. If he likes skate boarding, then he will LOVE SURFING. That and you get to go to the beach, and eat nacho's on the beach and stuff like that. Peace.
