Going West from Keene, you're on a hilly but kinda straight route, but it has a few 'cross roads' to it as ya go. Explore! I won't say exactly where, but the oil from new tar is notable at the better crossings. Well, and North is steeper than South, in a few places

Monterey, Ca
On 10/14/2008 Jake wrote in from United States  (75.245.nnn.nnn)

what's up everybody. I've been in the monterey bay area for a few months now and I finally broke out my boards and cruised around after being in houston, tx with no hills for WAY too long. anyways, monterey seems real crowded on the roads (in the PG area) and I'm looking to see if anybody knows of/is interested in riding at some places around here. I'm not equipped for bombing anything huge and fast; just looking for some sweet carving/soulriding. I'm totally down for heading up to Santa Cruz/SF if I have to. I'm getting ready to shell out some dough to get my two rigs up and running and maybe adding a third.

Alex in Ga
On 7/24/2008 Brett Hunter Nelson wrote in from United States  (68.126.nnn.nnn)

Yo! You absolutely need to grab you most downhill-ready setup and cruise out to Kennesaw Mountain! It is worth the drive for sure!

If you can't get someone to drive you up the road, grab your gear and walk up the path. Once at the top, wait for the bus that drops people off at the top of the Road. Give it some time to get to the bottom, If they see you skateboarding there, they WILL kick you out! Once you are sure, you won't be passing it on your way down strap on your helmet, put on your gloves and prepare yourself for a killer ride down!

It's fast but definitely carve-able or slide-able or bomb-able depending on your style/experience.

Good luck bro! Check it out. That is THE hill that turned me onto downhill!

long beach area
On 6/5/2008 roughdraft wrote in from United States  (76.169.nnn.nnn)

i live near long beach and i just ride local parking structures since the scarce hills...

I ride the long beach metro parking structure at night and sometimes the structure at "The Pike" in downtown LB when the security is pretty chill.. again if ur boarding late at night aorund midnight and such.. they usually leave you alone if you stay at the top 2-3 floors. its better than nothing :) THe LB Metro structure is the best spot IMO.. little to no parked cars... 5 floors.. and a convenient elevator to get back up... theres usually a pair of cop cars near the west of the structure, but they have yet to say anything to me.. They just chill there the whole time im riding.

i guess im not troubling anyone... so thats cool. I dont ride these places during the day so i dont know how it is at that time.
