Slam on good cones

Hey Blair didn't I prove you can slam super hard on the GOOD cones a coupla' weeks ago? :) Like I said we had many people hit them on the weekend and no sudden stops resulted. In fact the ONE I did trim goes right under the deck the same way the good ones do. I don't know if that is good or bad. Hitting the untrimmed ones the tapered part of the cones just sucked under and the square bases just stopped at the edge of the deck and the cones slid along without going all the way under. I am convinced they might even be BETTER!

I would use them unless the base is trimmed off--one could quite easily hit the cone and ride up onto the base--slam-o-rific!
Session at the Church of Slalom at 6.66pm Tuesday -- see you cats there.

Yeah I found some at the dollar store and debated buying them. I chose not to, but I might go back and pick them up anyway. The base is pretty thin, but if need be, I can hack them off with a bandsaw or the like at my school's shop.

I buy my cones at the Dollar Store - 1$ CDN each, they have the square base but i never crashed cause of that, unless you double them: now you gotta be careful. Of course Seismic cones are better but they just cost too much.

Right on, I never really looked at the Canadian Tire cones. Some of the kebbek cats were using square lipped cones, and they proved to be no hazard.
I'll look into it, thanks for the tip greg!

Hey Canuck Slalomers: The small cones at Canadian Tire stores available in the soccer section are fine for slalom. They have a small square base which is no problem. It is so thin and not much bigger then the cone itself that it poses no safety hazard. I used them all day on Saturgday in Jasper and I assure you there were lots of cones down with the newbie slalomers there. They are $6 CDN for four. There is a larger size too but it is quite a bit more money. Greg

Sweeet. Thats the one I prolly cant make, so you guys have an awesome time! I can't wait for the next ottawa race, or to ride your park again. Just sleeping in a skate park was an awesome experience, I thouroughly enjoyed it, thanks again. I hope I get to do some park slalom if at all possible. :D

Chris, yeah man, I enjoyed skating with you too! And you improved tremendously since the Ottawa race.
Don't know about the Mon-t cats but from what I know none of the Quebec City Crew plans on going. For me, sadly it's too far to drive in a fairly short amount of time and I 'm too poor to fly. And it pisses me off cause I'd really like to be there to race and hang with Marion, Ron and their whole crew...
But at least 5 of us should be at the Farm Outlaw Finale in Vermont october 1 and 2.
And we will visit Toronto. If it's not this fall than next spring. You can count on that!

Hey mig! I really enjoyed running some slalom with you guys a few weeks ago. You guys have a nice spot! Your whole posse really need to come down for toronto for a weekend sometime. We don't have great downhill, but our slalom runs aren't bad, and we'd set you guys up with some fun nights for sure.
Think about it.
Are any of you guys planning on going to North Carolina in november?

don't forget The Ottawa Sk8park 2nd Anniversary will be either Nov 19 (probably) or 26 - we'll probably do a park slalom comp and maybe even skate outside if the weather keeps up (we may still be skating outside Christmas Day!) As always our guests will have accomodation here!Families most welcome! Plan on it!

Claude - Good luck at the Worlds and kick some ass!
Kash - I hope you can make it to the next Dovercourt so we can slalom and skate the Legacy skatepark together again, man!
Slob- Life is good! The only thing missing around here is some roundwall... And glad to see you have a slalom scene going on in Calgary!

I hope our friend heals fast. That looked painful. I wear equipment not only because I am the dweebiest but because I don't want anymore scars for my collection. I have enough. And that mortgage? I'd like to be able to keep paying it...Hey you kids, I am 47 on Saturday!!!
