Dang, I wish I could add to the 6-8 wheeler thingy, but alas. Anyhow, keeping tabs on the Salem Parks-n-Rec schedule, it looks like the Salem BBQ at this point will stay on for Sunday Sept 24th 2017/.
Thanks - The Management

Hey, speaking of 6 wheelers, did ya see the new 8 wheelers coming out and the GG trackers for em? They are nice looking slalom trucks!
As to the 6 wheeler question, both Arab and Chaput must be in agreement on this. Where is Criddle when you need him?

Let's just say that the 'ice is thin' regarding That inquiry! My Bozi is ready to go, though (dual Rear Seismics!), and with 75A Tunnels sticks well enough to NOT SLIDE at Ascutney's 20% Grade section! Bring it!

If someone needs a room for Fri and/or Sat nights in Salem email me with the email-name-click-thingy. I've got a room with 2 beds at the Motel 6 where I've stayed in the past with no complaints.
One caveat - JBH sorta has first dibs.
But, I'm also normally a floor sleeper at home and if people want to pack into the room like the good 'ol days of racing's heyday not so many years ago, fine.

The WEST COAST CHAMPIONSHIPS(July 15th/16th)the "real race", is not the same event as Vic Smead's Slalom Cone-O-Rama (Sept?)the not-racing funfest.

1) Please make sure you're signing up for the actual event(s) you're planning on, there seems to be some confusion between the events people think they're signing (or not signing) up for.
2) If you're attending the West Coast Championship (REAL race), you need to actually signup on the contest calender so Brad, Maria and Lynn know how to plan for things like T-shirts, food, etc. Just "Facebooking" "Dude, I'm in and it's ON" doesn't count as a signup.
Thanks - Your Mom.

Looks like Kona Skatepark will have banked slalom with a $1500 cash prize. June 22-25. If you never been to Kona, the place just rocks and it is really fun.
Try the Kona website.
Good luck all!

FYI, Slalom St. Louis is a go! May 27-28, 2017, St. Louis, MO. This will be our 15th year in a row - so you'd think we'd know what we're doing by now. Sometimes we actually do. Check the Contest Calendar for details, look for Slalom St. Louis on Facebook or just check out slalomstlouis dot com. Hope to see y'all there!

OK,so it's looking more likely that this whole SKATEBOARD SLALOM WEST COAST CHAMPIONSHIP thingy is going to happen in Salem Saturday July 15th and Sunday July 16th 2017.
As in, "official", with scheduled use of the Soap Box Derby hill with the City of Salem, event papers filled out,and whatever sorts of things that need doing in order to have a actual, you know "racing event". Thank You Lynnibob.
Stay Tuned - The Management.

OK, so Brad is planning July 16th-ish 2017, same as what the BBQ was going to be, but since absolutely no information is coming from www.salemsbd.or and calling and emailing them has been fruitless, both the BBQ and West Coast Championship events are currently not on any "hard" dates since I guessing the Salem Parks-n-Rec will give the Salem Soap Box Derby Club priority on whatever dates they want to use the hill, since it was made for them and at least partly paid for by them.
Brad and I need to get ahold of each other and find out what we're doing.
The BBQ will likely be moved a bunch earlier or later.

West Coast Championship of Skateboard Slalom Racing to be held in Salem at the Soap Box Derby Hill.
Yes, you read that correctly, and remember you read it here first on the NCDSA.
Slalom Racer Emeritus, Bradley Lamont Jackmann (known in some circles as the "Jackhammer", oh, and I ad-libbed the middle name), is talking some serious talk (serious, as in: booking and paying the insurance, dealing with Salem Parks-n-rec, whatever else, etc.)
Possibly/likely this will happen instead of the BBQ, more to come.

Hey, I keep trying the www.salamsbd.org website, emailing them, leaving messages on their rep's listed phone# and still have no answers. So far they are NOT putting out any info for their events for 2017.
So, remember, the posted date on the Contest Calendar is subject to change.
Thanks - The Management.

Hey, Harms - Are you doing a St Louis Slalom event this year. If so, please post ASAP, I'm thinking of making it a two-fer to go to your event and see some long lost relatives I have in the St Louis area. Oh yeah, also to give Goad a wet-willy, so that'll make it a Three-fer.

Hey, I still don't have any good info for the dates posted for the Salem Slalom BBQ since www.salemsbd.org doesn't seem to have their 2017 race schedule/calender posted yet. I'm still waiting for return emails from them about that.
So, I'm still in limbo on the exact date and whether or not the date will stay as posted or get changed.
Thanks - The Management.

Hey, Just looking ahead, DON'T MARK YOUR CALENDERS YET!!! I have some investigation to do first to make sure there's not a conflicting use of the Soap Box Derby Hill (i.e. - scheduled & paid-for use of the hill by other groups).
So far I have it on the Contest Calendar just to have it listed. The date and name could very well change sorta soon.

No one else is 'here' to put in, so, heck, I'll at least make a note of it... JOE McLAREN is the FASTEST Yet on a 100 cone, even-set racecourse! 19.38 Seconds, a new World's Record! And, as I've noted before, this is faster than 5-cones-per-second, Way quicker at the feet than current FIS Slalom Skiers are turning!! Nice footwork,Joe!

Huge "Thank You!!" to Dr. Dan for the cones, BBQ, and hospitality! I had great fun trying to put my old Turner, and then Roe S-Camber thru Glenn's courses. He doesn't make it too easy! Dave, Lindsey, and Terry also were great to have around, and I loved catching up their activities since the last time[s] I had seen them. Scary thing, though; I had been there with my twins (then, not yet two Yrs. old), and Dan found an old photo of us all there. I was on the exact same Turner, 8 yrs ago!! Well, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
