PSR - Hey! Ummm, if you mean the "Salem" BBQ (not Portland), it's on both the NCDSA and Slalomskateboarder calenders. And nope, I and my event are still in Oregon(I actually live in Corvallis), and hopefully on a dry weekend this year. I may be driving through Utah later this year on my way back to visit family in Wyoming and meeting up with some friends in SLC and Logan.

It's back, things are good; Except, the Portland BBQ isn't listed?
Did you move it to Utah to dodge the inevitable wet stuff? If not, I hope you get the dry warm kinda weather you deserve!

Nice Keith!! Radikals rock, and these trucks deserve support.
Keep in mind the DH raceboarders out there that need KP's that are better than Chinese stock... this doesn't apply to those needing Radikal hi-tech king-bolts, btw, only those tweaking crap from Asia that ain't quite right, which may be up to 50% of the RKP users by now? I've seen a few other-than-US-made cheapos snap off at the kingpin, though, that might not be your market. After all, these guys don't actually TURN all that much... ;-)

World's / Antrim

Thanks Mig, for that info. While the World Record 100-cone is something Antrim will have in the record books, I know there are better hills around here (just hard to to "show" as a venue..). I'm glad 'The Worlds' got picked up by a good group of racers, and run in a venue that showcased the sport.
The crowding on dates really struck me as odd, as many who do (or did) race on Slalom also knew of the ISF/FIS fiasco that wiped out a snowboard-run international Pro/Am organization, as the contests would fall on the same days, just miles away from each other, yet both events were for points towards the Olympics. Obviously, the USSA (linked to skiers, and the FIS) had deeper pockets when it came to Court, 3 times, as the USSA would always go back on their word...
As for a 'dropped ball', I was hopeful that Joe I. would show up at Killington's Downhill Throwdown (a Push Culture Event), as that hill was one I first Luged in '81. The overlap of DH/Luge and a decent G.S./or/Super-G would've been really cool!!

Worlds and Antrim

As far as I know PSR, Antrim was offered the Worlds on a silver platter and for reasons unknown to me, they choked. The HOSS crew stepped up to the plate and organized them, and did an amazing job at it. Without them, there's a good chance Worlds wouldn't have happened this year.
As far as timing goes, the Kentucky race is also part of a town festival. So I guess dates are not up to the race organizers either. But ever since both races exist, I think it only happened a couple of times they were on the same weekend. The Kentucky one usually followed on the weekend after Antrim.

The date they picked for this sucks, as it Was the normal date for the Antrim, N.H. Can-Am, which uses the town's festival date to accommodate the hill from the school into town. Not, that, considering the few #'s of racers left in these parts, that it mattered much. It's just the whole idea of stomping out a race event by putting 'Yours', bigger and badder, on a date of conflict. Obviously, the old Can-Am is dead now.
There aren't enough races, nor racers, left to have organizers go at odds to each other. I saw that happen back in the '90's with Snowboarding, and, gee, racing is about dead there, too.
Still, I wish all the racers luck, good times and clean(ish) runs at the Worlds...

Kentucky World Championships!!!! Sheesh I wish I had a ton of big things done and over with financially so I could go to this!!! I thought I was done "racing" slalom, but I'm still slaloming frequently 'cuz it feels good to run cones at the riverfront still and put on BBQ slalom events. But I'm getting the itch to "race" again. Looking at the signup roster, it would be great to see all my old friends and acquaintances again and all the new faces there. I definitely miss everyone, well almost everyone-ha, ha.
Good luck to everyone and I just have to put in some boosters for my Subsonic teammates Evan St Clair & Marion Karr plus my Northwest Bro's Bradley-Schmadley and Johnny-Bob

Well whale wail well well. Just like that theme song on Beverly Hills cop I heard that the heat is on. I done sawed it over on the other channel and peoples a talking about it Them boys is practically back from the dead. I heard that a couple of them just got out of prison not too long ago and the first thing they did was get their boards and head to the gnarliest f#@!ing hill around. I also heard since they're all on probation that they got to stay straight so they've focused on nothing but practice practice practice practice practice practice. I hears one of them say that they were going to post on Facebook that anybody planning on coming to the worlds. you should go ahead and save on your plane ticket money now unless you like racing for the middle of the pack. I also heard them say something about spanking Christie Chapstick's ass with a Lynn Kramer board that was left over in the swag pale from the 2007 worlds.

Hey, It wasn't a big turnout but there was a good turnout, no rain, no wrecks, lots of cones, lots of fun runs since there's no timer or racer-order or cone-count nonsense getting in the way, plenty to eat - Good times! OMG it felt sooooo good to ride a bigger hill than my usual riverfront walkway on the practically text-book perfect for slalom soap box derby hill in Salem.
Thanks to everyone who showed up, it was fun seeing everyone ride and fun hanging out blabbing and what not.

Yeah, your Governor declared (as did Washington's) a drought emergency for the state, so... Oh, but it has rained every time, hasn't it?! Works better than a Blackfoot raindance! Maybe the Gov should hire you to run non-stop events until they've got enough H20?
I hope goes well, either way!
I still wanna run a Super-G outa the Mt. Hood access road, but that'd be in another lifetime; in this one I'm broke and in N.H...

Hey, So far the National Weather Service www.weather.gov says Sunday May 17th 2015 should be dry and partly sunny, Yay!
Oddly, all the predicted precipitation is suppossed to possibly happen before on Saturday(today) and Sat night and afterward on Monday and get wetter after that during the week. That's a change.
Signup if you're coming so I know how much food to bring.

1st - The Salem Slalom BBQ looks pretty solid for the date of 17 May so signup so I know how much food to bring.
2nd- JOE WOODMAN: Cole, I only vaguely remember your Dad from 1 or 2 Slalom races around 2002/2003, so yes he was a slalomer then but I have no idea what he does now. As far as downhill goes, there's a lot of cross-over from the slalom and dowhhill crowds so he probably did downhill racing at some point but specifically I have no idea.
