1.Mattias Gustavsson 135 cm, that is 53.17 inches.

That is great! The best jump of the year so far. He will be world champion for 2007 if no one jumps higher this year.

Can we get a photo of Mattias?

Jumping skateboards

I hold that record still today @ 19 feet, 6 inches from one board to another.
That was about 20 years ago and I think I could still do 15 feet. Them where the days of jumping anything and every thing, moving or not !

Pedlow Skatepark High Jump Contest
On 3/9/2007 Bob Staton wrote in from United States  (75.36.nnn.nnn)

Well....OK....2 days before the event and we now have it together.
There were issues...mostly political but now it's all good.
This Saturday March 10th! At Pedlow Skatepark in Encino, California.

WFSA has a High Jump Contest with men's and a women's divisions.

The skatepark has a very large concrete area for our comps. Should be fun! Try to attend and support freestyle events in California.

On 10/27/2006 old timer wrote in from United States  (72.65.nnn.nnn)

In the 70's I cleared 4'8"..Or sooo i was told. Turns out that the actual measurement was higher. The contest was measured -the heigth of the deck. In todays comp's, Are the meausured from the pavement or the deck surface??? I makes a 4" or so differenceGuys using BIG wheels and tall trucks as well as thick risers are at an unfair advantage if the tape begins at the pavement..
Just a thought, but was curious how you are measuring up these days!!

High Jump Records
On 10/12/2006 steelwheel Bob wrote in from (66.174.nnn.nnn)

Back in the day someone jumped higher than 6'. Since high jump was revived in 2001 the highest jump has been 5' by Ben Ede of Watts California after a contest. The best jump in competition since the revival started was 4'10" by Jose Morales in 2004 at the Inner City Games. Several skaters around the world have cleared 4'6" in recent events.

Jimmy who runs Team Took in Inglewood is working with some karate students that he feels can clear 7'!
