I have a small video with only 4 or 5 clips from the hook up at crystal palace last time. I am trying to put this onto video. If anyone is interested send me your details to lee@urbanboards.co.uk

Thier is also a video on our website of riding not slalom but its quite cool. Its was made by transworld sport check it out on www.urbanboards.co.uk

Also if anyone needs help or products we have access to Randals, tracker, indys, power paws, kryptonics aswell other old skool stuff. Check out www.urbanboards.co.uk if its not on there we can probably still get the stuff for you.

The responce is looking good for the event i will be emailing for ideas and help as soon as im back from Switzerland.

CHRIS @ Lush if you get this message soon let me know where you are in Switzerland as im here just outside of Zurich until the 4th of jan. Its snowing here but maybe i can come to you if the weather is good near you.

Shipping to Europe
On 12/21/2001 Chris Chaput wrote in from (63.168.nnn.nnn)

Phillipe,

What do I
Nothing. I don't have any control over you or your company. I may suggest that you read my post again. I may suggest that you not use this forum to advertise your company (Vendor's Corner or Buy-Sell-Trade are made for that). I may suggest that you continue to help support the European community by importing and distributing products to your customers. It sounds like you are doing well.

The shipping method is not without its problems. No insurance. A gift is okay, VAT taxes should be added to a vendor's product. I sincerely doubt that you will have competition from any vendor who ships an envelope of parts to Europe. I've never shipped anything to Europe this way, so I doubt I have hurt your business.

If anyone stateside wants to send a Christmas or birthday present to a friend or relative, this may work out nicely for him. He has an opportunity to ship it using one of several different and more expensive methods. This happens to be the cheapest I've found so far. My experience with skateboarders tells me that most are not rich, and many are willing to take a little risk. This is a potential solution to their problem and nothing more.

Thanks Chris to explain us how to purchase Randal Trucks directly from the US. Let me know what you plan to do with company like ours which besides developping downhill longboards with complex concaves, is (according to Randal himself) the oldest importer of Randal Trucks in Europe.( since may 1997)

I can arrange all the techy stuff and have done the organisation before. We have cones and will have timing and we are trying to organise official permission.
I lack your commercial side, although I can generate press packs, web sites and posters etc.
I look forward to working with you here.

Have a good trip

Cristal Palace Race
On 12/20/2001 Lee wrote in from (213.123.nnn.nnn)

Hi all,

I have been speaking to Chris Linford in regards to the event for easter weekend.

I am already arraning an event called 'The Urbanboarder X' for next summer and could use allot of my info and plan for this event.

I have access to dj's via our singed music label Ugly records and environmental science. We have done filming this year with people like Transworld sport, Where its at tv, Rad channel 5, xtreme sports etc, and would be able to get some coveridge for the event.

I will aslo be able to get the Swiss teams from Airflow and Summit sk8boards which includes Chris Hart who came 5th at morrow bay this year.

So i think from my conversations with chris im going to be arranging this event what i need to know is who wants to help and who can offer help. Does anyone have friends in TV, Magazines etc, does anyone have cones?

For shops and distributors if you are interested in sposorship for the event please contact lee@urbanboards.co.uk

Bottom line anyone who wants to help or can help drop me an email.

I wont reply to anything until im back from Swizterland on the 5th of jan but please still email me.

Also check out www.urbanboards.co.uk it has a lsit of shops who supply slalom and longboards.

Dave T, You've got it....! I'll do everything I can. Nothing would please me more than to see as many people and other companies get on board (no pun intended).... If you have any ideas as to how we can help let me know...how about encouraging people by having wheels, even whole boards available for participants to try on the day...? I can do that. What else...any ideas?

Michael pump this comp. up lets face it, its the begining of slalom in the UK (again!) its a good opportunity to get things charged up. Must be some shops, manufacturers that could provide some support. If people like Simon Levene and Martin Drayton do attend (I'am only presuming!) then you'll have world class skaters there, don't let this oppurtunity go. Please don't think i'am trying to tell you how to suck eggs, I can take it if you tell me to F@*#k off!!

Why send Randals to Europe???
On 12/19/2001 DoobieBrother wrote in from (195.186.nnn.nnn)

I was wondering about all that talk about shipping things from the US to Europe and how it's done smartest. I just can't figure out why one should do this... Don't we find all the goodies from the US in our stores over here? Well, at least in Switzerland we do. Ok, it might be a little more expensive in some cases but not necessairly (some people just can't convert from $ to their currencies) BUT you don't have the hassle of finding out how things are shipped over the cheapest and how long it's gonna take and so on...

Conclusion: Go buy your stuff at the local skate shop, mount it and go riding!

Take it easy - merry X-mas
