ASR Jam -- Killer Time!
On 9/15/2006 Maria C./SK8KINGS.COM wrote in from United States  (205.188.nnn.nnn)

ASR Jam -- Too cool. We started with an impromptu jam inside the ASR venue at the ABC/Acme booth on Sunday. Huge props to Jim Gray, Craig Harbick & the rest of the ABC crew for welcoming us into their space. We opened some eyes in the crowds that gathered to see the tech skills of the blend of legends and young gun skaters.

After the in show session we headed to the previously scheduled jam on the waterfront. Unfortunately, our planned jam spot -- the Broadway Pier, was booked to host a private car event (they lease that thing out sometimes and Chrysler had a bigger budget than we did) so we scrambled to find a suitable spot close by and viola! a new star was born. This boardwalk spot has the killer view, decent surface and plenty of passers-by. We were stoked to have an international crew including Kevin Harris from Canada, Lillis from Sweden and Thomas Potucek from Prague join SK8KINGS Richy Carrasco, Diane Desiderio, Gary Holl & Jon Bunn for an epic jam in the California sun. Other notables included Darryl Grogan, Mike Heller, Bob Staton & a bunch of newcomers. We had a killer time & the skating was great. Thanks to all who came out to play! We'll definitely be heading back to that spot for future jams.

More pics to come and video too.

Just wanted ti Wish the Legendary Russ Howell a belated Happy 57th Birthday salutes. Russ was the 1st. of many Skateboarders that inspired me way back in the 70's.

It is so great to have had the oppurtunity to skate, competed and met so many other people since that 1st. television thing I watched.

Mullens conversion
On 8/21/2006 Ben wrote in from United States  (24.130.nnn.nnn)

mullens conversion was a great idea on his part. he could continue to skate professionally and film video parts people would care about. As long as he is having fun he can skate whatever he wants. If he had not gone into street i probably wouldnt know what freestyle is. It is not like he was the only one to start a street carrer was just the only freestyler to be successfull. Reggie Barnes, Per Welinder, YoYo, Pierre Andre and Primo all had Non freestyle pro models

i agree with nation harris on his last post england does suck for freestyle although i skate street i also like totry out freestyle and find it very interesting and fun " hard " but fun . In england its seen as a waste of time to side a skateboard nevermind doing tricks no one knows like truckstands and then getting hit by the local "chavs" for not being able to land a smooth kickflip or a 360 shuvit .and to the more specific point i also agree with my friend nation harris that there sould be more freestlye sponsers especially in nottingham or even in england . keith renna reply please because we need help

I just wanna start of by saying thanks to Keith Renna for peplying to my post THANKS DUDE. Why does england suck? Well the only you can get sponsored is by skating street or vert. Freestyle is just about dead in England thats why i have to ask people on this site if they can help me out with a sponsor so if you know any one who can sort me out then write to me

i reckon your better than rodney mullen because he has a lack of style and passion for his skateboading and his conversion to street from freestyle wasn't nessiscerily his best of idea's . though it made him money and thebiggest skater world wide he became a bit off a sellout when he won evry competiotin going ' ownes a million companys has a dog he still sucks so you are better

Renna sucks
On 8/17/2006 Rennagade wrote in from United States  (24.56.nnn.nnn)

Hmmm.....Who would win, me or Mullen? Let's see. I've never placed well in a high level contest (highest I went was sponsored Am in the 80's) and Rodney won all but 1 pro contest. I've learned most of my tricks by watching Mullen and Rodney invented them. I miss a lot of tricks, Rodney doesn't. I pretty much suck and Rodney doesn't. I think it's fair to say that he would win easily. :)

Thanks for thinking I'm good though. That was nice.

Jammin!
On 6/15/2006 Richy C wrote in from United States  (207.200.nnn.nnn)

THe Jam in HB was great! As usual there was a nice crowd on hand! We even set up some cones so the slalom racers could join in.Steve Evans was on hand to spread some good vibes! After the Weekend this was the most sore my body has been in a long time. With team riders John and Gary staying with us this weekend we skated the most we could, starting with 4 hour session at my 360 spot, 6 hour Jam on sunday , ditch session at Hamburger hill and photo shoot at the Queen Mary! We cant wait for the next one! If the Kludys would have been able to make it, I know we would have seen some 3 board elbow stands out of Pops! Get well JR!
