Why is Freestyle so un-heard of in England?

Hi, I'm Mike and I've been doing Freestyle for 5 years now. Everyone I skater I see in and around London are all into street, it's like Freestyle and Old skool, the beginings of skating seem to be dying out. What I think would be ideal to bring back the traditions of skating, would be a competition held in London for Freestyle and Old skool skaters. This would show people the stylish side of skateboarding, where balance, idea's and style are really seen in skating.

Oceanside Pier Freestyle Flatland Jams
Every Saturday morning from 9:00 am until Noon.
Come early and stay late if you like.
(This is not yet offically a legal place to skate but we have never been hasseled, ticketed or asked to leave...but be advised thet it could happen.)
If we did get run off we would just go over to the free sk8 park a block away.

Great historic freestyle site, bring the family, surf after the jam.

I'm working on a girls high jump event for ASR and also an after hours ASR jam at the Kroc Community Center skatepark....probably will not happen but a good idea anyway.
My big event for the year will be the WFSA California State Flatland Championship in December to include 360's, high jump, freestyle contest with 2 min runs, game of skate- freestyle, game of skate-street, best trick, barrel jump. Details soon, for now lets try to get our skaters to the WC in Brazil...donations welcome.

I am hoping that anyone who knows anything about Skitch Hitchcock could send me an email updating me on whats up with him these days. I hung out with him in the mid 70s and Mike Weed. It's been 30 years now and my 11 yr old step-son
(an avid Bam, Tony Hawk, and Danny Way fan) and I were talking about the beginning days of Skateboarding, and whem I mentioned Skitch, I never dreamed he would have heard of him. He got so excited when I told him that I took Skitch with me on a trip to Florida in the late 70s. If anyone could email me with any info on him it sure would blow my 11 yr old's mind.

a 'losers approach' to skateboarding ? ......NEVER!
People that rant and rave about how they think that
freestyle skateboarding is a loser approach - - -
- - - those people probably CANNOT DO FREESTYLE SKATEBOARDING.
I do NOT know of ANY skater - who is a HOT FREESTYLER -
that would put down freestyle skateboarding .
Stick to your gut feeling of how much you respect and enjoy freestyle -
-if you can - compete, and meet other freestylers - keep practicing and
who knows - - - you may get sponsored by a cool company.

nowadays mostt guys are into street sk8in coz dats da in thing at the moment. i prefer freestyle skating but there aint a lot of guys doin freestyle where am at so i depend on the interner to get trick tips but all in vain.nearly all da websitee i visited only av street sk8in trick tips. arent there guys out there who freestyle sk8 coz am desperate for tricks most of da freestyle websites av been 2 only av tricks av mastered. it would be really nice if someone culd hook me up wiv rodney mullen site where they show how he does his tricks. k kool keep it real

hi im new to the whole freestyle thing and get laughed at because i tend not to practice ollies and kickflips. I tend to make my own type of things. I get my ideas from Rodney Mullen mainly. The tricks i do are manuals, primos (not the half flip primo) flips with my hands also i try handstands but cant get up enough i also do a caveman thingy. Someone please write me at hot or on e-messenger i speak to people about freestyle thet call it the losers approach to skateboarding
