The time has come for the fifth instilment of the California Downhill Series. Race number 5 will be held on Fairfax Bolinas Rd on May 24. On the morning of the race all riders will meet at near by Stinson beach where we will have our safety meetings and draw our heats. Racers should arrive in Stinson Beach at 8:00am, we will be meeting in the park in the middle of the town. It is a small town you will have no trouble finding the park.
As early as we can we will head over to the hill and began racing the bottom 1 mile or so. After the race we will session the whole hill. 4 miles of awesome downhill on the front side and another 4 miles of challenging downhill on the backside. The hill is worth the trip for any rider.
After the race we will be staying at near by Olema camp site, please e mail me ASAP if you are planning on camping so I can reserves sites. On Friday, the night before the race, there will be a barbecue dinner at my house. Anyone is welcome to eat and pitch a tent on my law or roll our your sleeping bags in my messy room.
If you are camping e mail me and tell me so I can reserve campsite. If you are planning on coming to the barbecue at my house e-mail me so I can let you know where I live and so I have a clue on how many people are coming.

I just need to get an idea of how many people will be here so I can arrange accomodations. Also, bring a tent or sleeping bag if you plan on camping out(side) or on the floor as I only have so many blankets and space. The weather looks like it will be good! We'll see when the actual day come but for now, 75, sunny and no wind! Bring sunblock, camping chairs, plenty of water and your gnar boots. And I have already given every store Andrew Mercado's description and told them to not let him buy flour...yeah right. I am getting more pumped by the day! I'll see you guys soon. DC

Is it a hill or mountain? Do I want to stay as far away as possible? Will BQ be there? Will there be more flour blossoming? Should I bring my pellet gun? Camping? How old is Danny? Make a cake? 2 boards 1 cup?

Directions
Take Hwy 5 to the "Grapevine" search cities of Frazier Park / Maricopa if unfamiliar with area. If coming from LA drive down the grapevine (if from the North, take last exist before gv)
the first exit is Maricopa HWY 166 exit and head WEST pass the orchards. Drive until road T bones and follow CA 166 / CA 33 to the left towards Elkhorn Grade. Drive up hill for 8 miles or so (you pass 2 runaway truck ramps)
TURN LEFT onto CERRO NOROESTE RD and drive 3 miles (You'll see a sign that says BITTER CREEK WILDLIFE PRESERVE)
TURN LEFT onto KLIPSTEIN CYN RD and park on downhill side
PARK ON DOWNHILL SIDE so you can NOT BE SEEN from Cerro Noroeste Rd.
$30 entry fee
MANDATORY RIDERS MEETING AT 11:00 AM Riders will establish qualifying brackets by pulling names from a helmet. A traditional bracket will be used. If you miss it you will not race.
Practice begins at 11:30 and will consist of 3 runs.
RACING BEGINS AT 12:00 NOON!!!
Bring big soft wheels and rain wheels.
It will be cold, dress accordingly.
CAMPING is available nearby on a first come first serve basis at the Hungry Valley OFF ROAD camp in GORMON, CA. cost is $10.
Frazier Park is UNDER SNOW!!! You will NEED a 4 X 4 AND CHAINS to get through the local hwy to get to Cerro Noroeste Rd. Even though it is longer take hwy 166. About a 2.25 hour drive from Los Angeles.
Please Do Not Ride the road before we start, we are in the Condor Sanctuary and want to keep a low profile, afterwards there will be many more hills to sesh and Templin Hwy is not too far away. ALSO, please leave no trash it is an EXTREMELY expensive ticket on this hill.
Thank You to our sponsors below.

Depending where you live take the 5, 15, 805, or 125 = SOUTH to the 94 EAST. Follow Highway until it becomes surface streets. Turn RIGHT at Campo Road to STAY on CA-94. Drive 20 miles, pass the Barret Junction Cafe and turn left at Barret School Rd. If you see signs for Tecate you went too far. Park at bottom of hill where Barret School / Barret Smith meets. Learn to use Google Maps, its quite easy.
Ride Rain or Shine or Snow or Attack of Flying Pigs You'll likely fall sooner or later in the dry, expect to fall in the wet. Dont worry about going off the cliffs, those corners will pull you to the opposite side into a big rock/mud wall. Enjoy the show and smile!!!
