Entry Fee: $100.00
Contest Info: This is a three-day race in Breckenridge, Colorado, starting Friday afternoon, June 6th, until Sunday, June 8th. This is an FCR sanctioned race.

Overview

Colorado is a long way from both coasts so I’ve made the entry fee $100 for the three day event. You get three races for the price of one.
We have a couple of excellent hills to work with and we’re trying a little bit of everything. On Friday afternoon/evening you’ll race head-to-head in SlalomCross format. On Saturday we'll set a dual GS on the same hill. This hill is 1000’ long with a good pavement, a big slope, overhead walkways for spectators, and a big curve. On Sunday will move the whole scene to the center of town and hold a dual TS. The TS site is 650’ long with a shallow grade, lots of spectators. On Saturday evening, if you’ve got the lungs, we’ll take over the Breckenridge skatepark for an evening session. We’ll be setting up some events with local restaurants as well.
We will use the FCR ramps, gates, and timers, as per 2002. TLP will be on hand to make sure everything runs smooth.

Race Schedule
Friday, June 6 – 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM SlalomCross, Village Rd. at Beaver Run
By starting the racing at 2:30 PM everyone should have the opportunity to travel on Friday morning. Early flights from the West Coast arrive Denver at 9:30 local time. SlalomCross Practice starts at 1:00 PM, racing begins at 2:30. We will do qualifying and then seed racers for head to head. Men’s Expert, Men’s Open, and Women’s Expert will run the SlalomCross. If time allows, we will run the SlalomCross like a typical head-to-head matchup where you get a run in each lane. This will require that we time the lanes for every run. If time or weather does not permit this more legnthy process of elimination, we’ll go to a single run elimination. We’ll make the call on the hill.
The Hill

Looking down the hill from the curve

Saturday, June 7 – 7:30 – 5:00 PM Dual GS, Village Rd. at Beaver Run
The dual GS will be on the same hill as the SlalomCross. This is a 1000’ long hill with a 5-6% grade and a big sweeping left hand turn. Since this will be a head-to-head race around a curve the lanes will not be exactly the same. For spectator value, we will have a common finish line – meaning the lanes end at the same point. The outside lane on this curve has a slighly longer distance to travel, so the starting gate for the outside lane will be downhill from the inside lane starting point. Racers will start at the same time, but they wont be right next to each other. Given that this is perhaps the longest GS course in recent history, it *could be* 70-80 gates long. Pavement is the same as 2002 GS course, about 4 out of 5 stars.
The plan
7:30 – 9:00 AM--------Junior class, Women’s Open class
9:00 – 10:00 AM------Practice
10:00 – 1:00 PM------Men’s Open and Women’s Expert Divisions
1:00 – 5:00--------------Men’s Expert Division
Award’s ceremony for SlalomCross and GS on the hill directly following finals.
Park session – Breckenridge Skatepark following the race.

Sunday, June 8 - 7:30 – 5:00 PM Dual TS, Washington Ave. & Main St.
Washington Ave. has a two slight slopes with an almost flat middle section. This is one block north of the 2002 hybrid race site. The pavement is good and there is only one water main to deal with. You’ll start through 10 or so gates of flat, drop into 150’ of 3% slope, another 200’ of flat tight gates, and then it ends with a little slope. It’s a foot drag stop, sorry Henry. Expect 50-60 gates. A course similar to Hood, Catalina, leaning more toward TS than Hybrid. The street is 650’ long. Expect cones for 510’. Expect big crowds to. We will have radio stations and newspaper promoting the race for a couple of weeks prior.
The plan
7:30 – 9:00 AM--------Junior class, Women’s Open class
9:00 – 10:00 AM------Practice
10:00 – 1:00 PM------Men’s Open and Women’s Expert Divisions
1:00 – 5:00--------------Men’s Expert Division
