Fair warning: The registration fee will be raised to $90 in just 7 days.
You know we don't want to do it, but we didn't get our government
bailout package this year.

Thanks for your support

If we don't open we will be staying for a bit of a holiday so we can spend some time with you folks, EH!

*** IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT DIXIE CUP V - 2009 ***

We can't express how much we appreciate the support for the
Dixie Cup every year. Having fun for 3-4 days before Winter
sets in is always a great time.

However, we have to raise money in order to put these events
on. I know, the economy sucks ... but at least it sucks for
everyone, right? At this time we have a handful of racers that
have paid entry fees, and that helps for sure.

If you have not paid your entry fee by Friday morning (10-29-09)
at 10AM (Eastern), you will not be added to the T-Shirt and the
food list. We have to order food for the correct number of
people and make the correct number of shirts

The PayPal link is located on the registration page.
Here: http://67.139.161.195/contest_registrat ... testID=442

If you have to pay by check, please contact us at
cletus@downhillbillies.com to get the address information.
Please DO NOT make checks or money orders out to DHB.

Thanks for working with us to put on another DCup!!!
-DHB

xXx DHB Boarder-Cross xXx

Friday night @ Dixie Cup 2009

Dual-lane racing with obstacles(skate-able), cones, and more.

The rules and racing format for this event will be explained at the "safety meeting"
on the hill. Please come by the registration table at the hotel for more info that evening.

*This event is JUST FOR FUN. This will not count for points, and will not decide
the bracketing for Saturday & Sunday's racing.

A few answers to field some of the questions being asked about Friday night.

> We are keeping the full details of the course a secret until the race.
> This is a ramp start event.
> No, we are not using the big ramps for this, only the small ramps.
> Being a ramp start, most wheelbases over 28" will bottom out on the ramp.
> You have to be a registered and paid rider for this event. It is not a free
event like the DH on Sunday.
> If you are a Junior racer, you must have the release form signed by
a parent or legal guardian. Not a local drunk homeless guy. Unless they are your
legal guardian. That can be done at the hotel registration table.
> Helmet required. Knee pads required. Elbow and wrist guards suggested.
Brass knuckles optional.
> The race propaganda packets will be posted in the next 24 hours. They will also
be available at the registration table.
> IMPORTANT NOTE: You will be given a playing card at registration on Friday.
Keep this card with you AT ALL TIMES during the weekend.

Wow having skipped two days of work to skate what was advertised as a hybrid, I sure hope the boardercross is radikal-friendly. I love a boardercross but a little warning would have been good. That is unless you can give a new set of radikals to the fastest woman racer hehe

I just want to take a moment and thank the hillbillies and the sponsors for an awesome weekend. We had great weather the whole time. Friday night was a blast with a fun and unique way to start the weekend. There were a few good hands of 21 to determine winners and a few people have to learn not to play so conservative.

Saturday was great weather, nice crowds watching and an overall awesome vibe. The course is always fun. Outback took care of us with some awesome food. The party was awesome as well. I learned that the best thing to do in the state I was in was let someone else ride my board. I forgot how to skate Saturday night.

Sunday was a blast. That was a fun course and the big ramp never gets old. The Monster truck kept everyone alert.

It was good to see Eddie back at it with a smile on his face.

Again, thank you to everyone who helped, sponsored, put up with the people who helped (families). We really appreciate all the work you do.

Of course Friday night was a blast, as was the rest of the weekend. Thanks to DHB for having a great race weekend.the ramp was awesome, and the boardercross was a hoot!
Good job to all the axe army. We really represented, with a couple of podium finishes for richy and jackman. Brad, I'm so glad your arm is all healed. You're faster than ever.
Gotta stop typing and get to the airport.

DHB - thanks again for everything! Four events, unbelievable weather, great Saturday party. Just what the doctor ordered, the sk8 doctor that is. Great to see everyone and thanks to everyone along the way this year, from Austin to Statesville...impossible to explain to other people, but y'all know what I'm talkin' 'bout.

Calling Neil Orta, Rick Floyd, and anyone else that took pictures this weekend.
Please contact me. I'd like to collect as many pics as you'd care to share so we
can get them up on the new site. That goes for anyone that shot video as well.

Thanks
