Sk8Kings and friends are excited to host the 2023 World Championships of Slalom Skateboarding at one of our favorite race venues - the soap box derby hill at Bush's Pasture Park in Salem, Oregon USA. We have secured the ISSA Major World Ranking Sanction and are partnering with USA Skateboarding and World Skate to produce an epic crown-jewel event for the world slalom racing circuit!
Plans are underway and we have big goals to make this 2023 USA event one of the best ever. Two of our top priorities are producing a live stream webcast for each of the 3-days of competition AND securing an excellent cash prize purse for the top finishers.
Expect a traditional race structure - Tight, Hybrid and Giant Slalom courses - all classes Pro, Am, Master, Junior - on a dedicated race track in a beautiful wooded park setting. The venue is open to the public and parking is free. Spectators are welcome to bring their own picnic supplies and plan a nice day in the park. Competitors will have on-site lunch and water provided each day. The specific event schedule will be published soon.
Salem is one hour south of Portland, OR (PDX airport code) and one hour north of Eugene, OR (EUG airport code) for your general planning. Our timing is perfect for lower-cost shoulder season travel - while the local weather is still quite nice. Discount lodging arrangements are in the works and will be announced any day now.
Our own website is under construction but general event signup is currently available below. Entry fee payment methods will be announced soon. Flat rate of $125 includes all three days of competition and all racer amenities (ie: t-shirt, lunch, etc).
