Slolam,
Wow, summer ski's are still being made, that's great. Is it a commercial activity or a labor of love? In either case, how can I get more info? Thanks!

You could try some seismics. I still prefer full tracks and no they are not made any more but there is a good chance you can find them.As far as the Turner summer ski yes they are still being made by bobby turner and no time machine is involved. If I had a time machine....I tell ya them turners are bad ass.

slolam,
Turner summer ski? Tracker full tracks? Do they still make these? I have some old full tracks from the late 70's, but they look fragile when compared to current street trucks. Do any of the current trucks work well for slalom?

How about "Racing slicks"? I've heard from different brands that they make some, but are they good?

What types of equipment are folks using for slalom and giant slalom courses? I'm looking for any deck, truck and wheel recommendations.

Scott Creek Slalom Video I've finished the video of the NCDSA slalom session at Scott Creek on 8/14. It's a bit big, 9.4 MB, so if you're on a slow connection then download it overnight or something.
Download the video

I have some pictures from the NCDSA meet posted on my page if you wanna see the course. I don't think there is a picture of the whole thing though. Also, I have a picture of the "Turner Summer Ski" posted on my page(the section with pictures of some old boards). I always wondered what these things were like, since there is a lot of comments about that board on this page. You can find my page in the link section (Greg's longboard page). Ok, just thought somebody somewhere might be interested... Ok, later late.

Anyone else had a chance to ride either the 26" ROCKET or the 36" HIGH ROLLER from BLACK 29? Sweet boards for running cones or carving up concrete. Hard as hell to get a hold of, but worth the wait. Invader 700's, KRYPTO 62mm / 78a's and the best looking finland birch veneer kicktail ! STOKED!!!

NCDSA will be running a timed 20-cone slalom "tune-up" course in the church parking lot at the bottom of Scott Creek Road. Runs are free, but participants will be expected to work the course (i.e. cone re-setting, timing). See the Events page for more detials and map to the event (scroll down to the original post dated 8/1/99)

In LA we're setting GS on occasion at West LA College on Sundays. Typical GS for us may not be typical for others. But we use a hill of 5% to 10% grade, and set the cones about 10 to 20 meters down the hill from each other, with an offset of around 3 meters. I'll put in a couple of stingers, 3 cones in a straight line, maybe 7 meters apart. This style of course runs pretty fast.

Anyone have some good designs for Giant Slolom or Super Giant Slolom courses? Anyone in Santa Cruz / Capitola want to set up Giant Slolom or Super Giant Slolom courses and have some fun?

If you want to ride slalom but don't feel like buying a new board, try this... Take one of your really old and worn out new school board (the kicks should start to flatten) put some fast trucks on it and some small soft wheels. I think spitfire makes some 56mm 88a wheels and ride like hell
